This is an application package for the Ascii Converter process plugin that enables you to convert hexadecimal (hex) value and decimal (dec) value of various keys to their corresponding readable ASCII values. The application supports the Extended ASCII Table for processing decimal values.

Installation

Follow these steps to install the AsciiConverter Plugin v3.0.0 in LogPoint:

Download the AsciiConverter package provided above in the Download section.
Install the package by importing the pak file to LogPoint under Settings >> System >> Applications.

Important Notice

The AsciiConverter plugin includes the functionality of the Hex2Ascii plugin. Therefore, it is recommended to use the AsciiConverter plugin, and uninstall the existing Hex2Ascii plugin, as the later will eventually phase out.

Usage Information

Hexadecimal To ASCII

Syntax: | process ascii_converter(fieldname,hex) as string

For example, the "| process ascii_converter(sig_id,hex) as alias_name" query converts the sig_id_hex value to readable ASCII value and assigns it to the alias_name field.

Decimal To ASCII

Syntax: | process ascii_converter(fieldname,dec) as string

For example, the "| process ascii_converter(sig_id,dec) as alias_name" query converts the sig_id_dec value to readable ASCII value and assigns it to the alias_name field.
